Why Bali is Every Traveler's Dream

Bali earns its reputation as one of the world's greatest travel destinations through sheer variety. In a single day you can watch the sunrise from a volcano, pray at an ancient Hindu temple, lunch in a jungle cafรฉ, surf a world-class wave and dance at a beach club as the sun sets. The island's spiritual culture โ€” daily offerings, temple ceremonies and gamelan music โ€” gives it a soul unlike anywhere else in Southeast Asia.

Top Attractions in Bali

1

Ubud โ€” Cultural Heart of Bali

Bali's arts capital sits in the cool highlands surrounded by rice paddies and jungle. The Sacred Monkey Forest, Ubud Palace, Tegallalang Rice Terraces, and dozens of yoga studios and warungs make it the island's most visited town.

2

Tanah Lot Temple

Bali's most photographed landmark โ€” a sea temple perched dramatically on a rock formation in the ocean. Best at sunset when the silhouette against the orange sky is extraordinary. Accessible at low tide by foot.

Mount Batur Sunrise Trek

Wake at 2am, hike 2 hours to the summit of an active volcano (1,717m) and watch the sunrise above the clouds. Cook eggs in volcanic steam vents. One of Southeast Asia's most memorable experiences. Guides mandatory.

5

Uluwatu Temple & Kecak Fire Dance

Perched 70m above crashing waves on Bali's southern tip, Uluwatu is sacred and spectacular. Every evening at sunset, a Kecak fire dance performance is staged at the clifftop amphitheatre. Unmissable.

6

Nusa Penida Island

A 45-minute speedboat from Sanur brings you to Bali's wildest neighbor. Kelingking Beach (T-Rex cliff), Broken Beach and Crystal Bay offer jaw-dropping scenery. Manta ray snorkeling is world-class here.
